The Royal Iraqi Navy was founded in 1936 as a riverine patrol force.

It played no real combat role during the Kingdom Of Iraq period.

Unfortunately I have no further information except that the first commander of this force, I mean the riverine force was Major General Ahmed Rushdi Haj Mohammed. And that the ships were the first known type of Abdul Rahman, relative to the first vessel name. There was also another ship called Al Gassy. Those ships have the post 1963 flag. So I guess they stayed in service for a long time.
