why canceling it, they should do the smart thing and request technology transfer instead ;)hayder كتب:The philipines are getting FA50 NOT TA50. They are paying $31M per unit "flyaway" with a total cost including training and support of $38M per unit.
The Indonesians are getting TA50 for $25M per unit.
Korea is buying FA50 for $31M per unit.
Iraq is buying FA50 WITHOUT the Israeli Elta El/M2032 radar for $45.8M flyaway cost and $86M per unit including training and support.
The mathematics are there for you Assius ;)
The only thing that can "save" this deal is if Iraq is getting the planes with F414 engine and AESA radar and hardened wings with 9 hardpoints...
If they are getting a "normal" FA50 with 7 hardpoints, F404 engine and APG67 radar (from T50 trainer version! since the Iraqis refuse ELM2032)... then I HOPE THE DEAL IS CANCELLED BECAUSE THE IRAQIS WILL BE OVERCHARGED BY $360M FOR THE AIRCRAFT ALONE.

Re: T50IQ - Iraq's new trainer / light fighter

viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1056&p=11632#p11632

Re: T50IQ - Iraq's new trainer / light fighter
I am now officially ANTI the T50IQ deal.
The price of the FA50 on which the T50IQ is based is $30M per unit. Iraq is paying $45.8M per unit for its aircraft, and another $41M per aircaft for service and support.
There are 2 possibilities:
1- The Iraqi T50IQ has new AESA radar and upgraded F414 engine and hardened wings for 9 hardpoints. To explain the price difference.
2- The deal is overpriced due to a mix of corruption and overcharging by the manufacturer.
Also there is the question about why Iraq has accepted the supply of Aim-9M and AiM7M missiles for the F16IQ and T50IQ which cannot match or intercept the aircraft of any of our neighbouring countries who are all equipping with AiM9X and Aim120C7 AMRAAM missiles.
The Philippines are getting FA50 They are paying $31M per unit "flyaway" with a total cost including training and support of $38M per unit. their eventual lifecycle cost is $4750 per hour.
The Indonesians are getting TA50 for $25M per unit. and have an eventual lifecycle cost of about $4000/hour
Korea is buying FA50 for $31M per unit.
Iraq is buying FA50 WITHOUT the Israeli Elta El/M2032 radar for $45.8M flyaway cost and $87.5M per aircraft including training and support. Over 20 years and 8000 flight hours, the cost per hour is $11,000 excluding fuel! That is more than DOUBLE the price that Philippines / Korea / Indonesia are paying!!
The mathematics are there for you
compared to the "lifecycle cost" for the JAS39 gripen of about $3500/hour.
unjustifiable price.
I HOPE THE DEAL IS CANCELLED BECAUSE THE IRAQIS WILL BE OVERCHARGED BY about $1Bn in a $2Bn deal!!
That $1Bn is enough to build 20,000 houses for the poor and homeless people Iraq.

a lifecycle cost of $11,000 per hour.
There is NOTHING to discuss.
It is more than double the lifecycle cost that South Korea and Philippines are paying for the SAME aircraft in the SAME year.
There is NOTHING to discuss on this topic.

Re: T50IQ - Iraq's new trainer / light fighter
Honestly, It is looking increasingly like Iraq will get a "below standard" FA50 for DOUBLE the lifecycle price of the Korean/Phillipino FA50!

yes. Iraq is paying $41M per aircraft for this. that makes a lifecycle cost of $11,000 per hour over 20 years!
.
Not with AiM7M sparrow and AiM9M they won't
.
no. There is no need for 2 LIFT types for "western" types. If Iraqis buy Russian fighters then they would need Yak130 for that type. But certainly no need for L159BQ.

Re: T50IQ - Iraq's new trainer / light fighter
Re: T50IQ - Iraq's new trainer / light fighter

Re: T50IQ - Iraq's new trainer / light fighter
Ibn Baghdad.
The number I gave is what both the Iraqis and Koreans state as the cost of the contract.
$1.1Bn for 24 aircraft
$1Bn for 20 years service and support and training
A total of $2.1Bn for 24 aircraft over 20 years. The aircraft's lifecycle is 8000 hours. so.
$2.1Bn / 24 aircraft = $87.5M per aircraft
$87.5M / 8000 hours = $10,937 / hour
That price excludes FUEL and other anciliaries that the South Koreans' don't provide.
So the cost per hour is $11,000+ whether there is one pilot, 2 pilots, weapons or not... That is the MINIMUM price! IT WILL BE MORE PROBABLY!
and it is nearly 300% of the price that the south koreans and philipinos are paying for THEIR FA50 bought in the same year.
What is your argument exactly? in numbers please.

Re: T50IQ - Iraq's new trainer / light fighter
and let us compare to the Yak130 that Syria bought last year
$15M each, including setup and training. Even if we add $5M for lifecycle cost. The syrians are paying for the yak 130 approximately:
$20M / 10000 hours = $2000 / hour ... less than 20% of the price of flying the T50IQ.
You can fly around in a Yak130 for 5-6 hours for the same price as 1 hour in a T50IQ... you can fly in a korean or philipino FA50 for 2-3 hours for the same price as 1 hour in a T50IQ.
insane.

Re: T50IQ - Iraq's new trainer / light fighter
don't get me wrong Tango.
Iraq needs a LIFT, and a light figther for day-day duties (think modern MiG21, for Iraq).
Also, the T50IQ / FA50 is a VERY good aircraft. In fact, the BEST in the world
But it has to be bought at a "honest" price!
